Soroptimist International of Pasco-Kennewick

Empowered women empowering women

Since 1948, Soroptimist International of Pasco-Kennewick (SIPK) has been rooted in the vision that women and girls will achieve their individual and collective potential. SIPK’s advocacy work and on-the-ground projects seek to drive the realization of these aspirations and ensure that women and girls have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities.

We continue our work to improve the lives of women and girls in our community to help them achieve their dreams. We remain dedicated to meeting the increased needs caused by the global pandemic as well as economic and social pressures of our day.

Soroptimist:

A global volunteer network of women in 130 countries and territories who work to improve the lives of women and girls.

Our Mission:

Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Our Vision:

Women and girls will have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

Our Work

  • Each spring, SIPK and our neighboring club, Soroptimist International of Three Rivers, hosts a free one-day event for high school girls to help them plan their futures and meet professional role models.

  • SIPK awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and educational awards to local women each year, enabling them to continue their educations and achieve their career goals.

  • Our projects would not be possible without the support of local businesses and generous donors like you. Our fundraisers include a Bunco game night each fall, as well as our signature Dream Builders Breakfast in the spring.

  • Since 2011, SIPK has partnered with Soroptimist International of Three Rivers to raise awareness and combat human trafficking in our community by providing education and awareness to youth, first responders and health professionals.

  • Our members organize many service projects to benefit the community, such as assembling kits for young women leaving the foster care system, sewing Covid masks, or collecting hygiene products for local women’s shelters.
